 Twilight of the Anthropocene is an Alternative History Mod for the Paradox Game //Hearts of Iron IV//.

It has two major Points of Divergence:
  - 1935: Konrad Zuse invents the MOSFET, the first transistor, facilitating significant earlier developments in [[Computing|computing technology]]. The advancement in technology from this point has created a significant shift in human civilization by the 2020s, with sophisticated AI algorithms integrated into much of everyday life, [[Space Exploration|significant space colonization and space industry]], and the integration of security robotics into the police and militaries of many nations.
  - 1943: Adolf Hitler's flight from Smolensk is successfully sabotaged, resulting in his earlier death and a collapse of German stability in the war effort. Instead of a rush to Berlin, the European front of WWII becomes a quagmire of ardent Nazi resistance and some semblance of nation-rebuilding by the Allies, resulting in the three-way split of Germany into the [[Republic of Westphalia]], the [[Prussian Democratic Republic]], and the [[Republic of Austria-Bavaria]]. 

By the 2020s, humanity's future and even its own self-concept is uncertain. As computing algorithms grow closer towards [[Computing|General Artificial Intelligence]], and advancements in medical science allow for the proliferation of [[Cybernetics|cybernetic augments]] and [[Gene-Editing|gene-splicing]], many are beginning to question if humanity will make it out of the near-future, and if we'll even be recognizable as human if we do.
