As always, the mod is moving along at a healthy pace. With the release of Land of Cassava and Honey long past us and our next major update Go West already deep in production, we’ve decided to carve out a moment of calm between the storms. A time to breathe, polish, tweak... and also fight Satanists, Roman LARPers, and ex-presidents backed by the Cuban diaspora.
That’s right. It’s time to head down to Ocean Avenue!
What’s Ocean Avenue?
Ocean Avenue is a smaller intermission patch between our larger updates. Its main purpose is to polish existing content, improve performance, touch up the interface, and continue refining systems like the economy mechanic and production balance.
But that’s not all, of course!
This update will also introduce a new fully playable country during the American Civil War — one whose name is synonymous with chaos, decadence, disaster, and sunshine: the State of Florida.
Alongside Florida’s content, the United States proper will receive a minimal starting focus tree as well, allowing players to begin the prelude from the beast's belly and witness a sneak peek of future content.
The Belly of the Beast
Before we reach the main course, we should get into the starting tree for the United States, which handles emergency matters and the loss of Bernie Sanders after his assassination before his inauguration, with the Electoral College deciding to place Pelosi as the legitimate successor of who might've been the last gasp for keeping America together.

A Florida Man for Every Era

Florida starts as a fractured, scorched peninsula held together by duct tape, denial, and the desperate efforts of its last reasonable man: Paul Stanton, a principled libertarian with a terminal case of classical liberalism. But Florida does not want reason. Not anymore.
As Florida, you’ll only gain control after seceding: An event triggered by the unraveling of federal control and the passage of certain focuses within the U.S. tree. From there, Florida must manage its internal chaos, fortify its swamps, deregulate its economy, and — if it’s up to the task... reshape the future of the continent.
The Obamanation Rises
And just when you think things can’t get any more chaotic... they do!
A couple months into the chaos, a third-term aspirant Barack Obama returns with a vengeance — not from Washington, but from Cuba, commanding a coalition of exiles, mercenaries, and foreign support. His goal? To retake Miami and restore order to the United States under his twisted, communistic dark vision for America.
Will Florida’s ragtag misfits stand together to repel the [Obamanation](attachment 8)? Or will the peninsula become his first conquest?
A New Chapter Begins
With the unified front that the Obamanation created for just a few months, the Floridian government and its ragtag militias of weirdos and outcasts now find themselves at eachother's throats in their visions for the future of these United States:
Florida in this update will have circa 5 years of polished content, enough to unify the United States or die trying, with multiple path options to give replayability.
