the game i've been playing quite a bit recently is one that's also come out recently: FBC Firebreak
it's set in the Oldest House from Control and is a sort of quasi-extraction shooter where you go in as a team of 3 and have to complete missions related to different anomalous conditions. it's a little bit janky but it's kind of engaging ngl. very rarely have i played a game like this where the shotguns actually feel worthwhile at range
i'm mainly into it for the aesthetic though. hard not to love the setting of an ever-shifting brutalist mid-century modernist interior, where everyone has to use "old-fashioned" and makeshift weapons

Re: Gaming Thread
I tried a bit of Control I understand why people love it but something made me bounce off it.
I just finished a replay of Bioshock. It's still a great game but I find I like it less each time I play it. I kind of only like 2 levels (Fort Frolic and the Medical Pavilion) and the rest are kind of meh or I hate them (Arcadia). Maybe this is an issue of my playstyle but I also find I barely ever use Plasmids in combat because the guns do the job fine. The ending is also super anticlimactic. Still a great atmosphere tho.
Next I'm gonna give Bioshock 2 another shot. It's never clicked for me and I end up dropping it but so many people say it's a hidden gem so maybe it'll click this time.
I adore Systemshock 2 and the remaster is out with restored multiplayer so I want to find someone to play that with. Let me know if anyone would be interested in that.

Before the Steam sale ends I recommend you guys pick up Studio System Guardian Angel. It's a unique indie survival horror and I think it would probably vibe with a lot of the people on this site. It's 9$ go buy it and play it!!!
